In September and early October Britain for Europe, with our partners European Movement UK, Scientists for Europe, and Healthier in Europe, organised meetings, marches and rallies at the main Party Conferences to demonstrate to the Liberal Democrats, Labour and the Conservatives the strength of feeling across the country against Brexit.
Then on Tuesday 24 October we took our message to Westminster. With a Pro-EU Conference and a lobby of MPs by pro-remain groups from across the country to show MPs that there is widespread and deeply rooted support for the UK remaining within the EU as a country that champions peace, prosperity, human rights and protection of the environment.
The conference focused on current developments in Parliament, how public opinion on Brexit is changing, the impact on the UK of political changes in France and Germany and how we can build our strength to have maximum impact, both locally and nationally.
Speakers included Rt Hon Dominic Grieve QC MP, David Lammy MP, Caroline Lucas MP, Wera Hobhouse MP, Polly Toynbee, Susie Courtault, Jules Cavalier, Mike Galsworthy, Ian Dunt, and Quentin Peel.
